PURPOSE:To reduce the slide resistance of a retainer and enable the manufacture of a high precision retainer less expensively by making the retainer contact a roller in a condition wherein one of both upper and lower side ends thereof is in contact with a race material, and making different the outer dimensions of adjacent windows with the inner and outer sides of a retainer window kept slightly larger or smaller than a roller diameter. CONSTITUTION:Race grooves 1a and 2a are formed in the longitudinal direction on the overlapped portion of a table 1 having roughly U-shaped section and a head 2. A ball 3 is held by a retainer 4 of roughly rectangular form and upper and lower side plates 5 and 6 are fitted as stoppers. Also, the window of the retainer 4 is so sized that the inner side thereof will be slightly larger than roller diameter, both of the outer sides slightly smaller than said diameter and the outer dimensions of adjacent windows will be different. In this case, a pin 8 for a barrel-shaped window chamfered in a retainer mold 7 is arranged at a predetermined position for injection molding a plastic material. Thereafter, said pin 8 is alternately pulled out in the reverse direction, thereby molding a retainer. Therefore, the retainer can be manufactured less expensively and to high precision, and the slide resistance thereof can be reduced.
