The present invention relates to a process for the liquid/liquid extraction of wet-process phosphoric acid using an immiscible organic solvent, whereby the organic phase is initially fed into the mixing apparatus and the acid phase is added while stirring, the liquids are intensively mixed and the phases are subsequently separated in a settler (settling vessel).
