An electronic apparatus contains a first housing part (12, 15) which has keys (12a) for entering information, and a second housing part (14) which is permanently connected to the first housing part (12, 15) in order to form an apparatus housing. The first housing part (12, 15) contains a key switching element (12) consisting of elastic material, with whose aid switching operations can be carried out, as well as a key holding element (15), which is permanently connected to the key switching element (12) and is furthermore used as a coupling element for connecting the second housing part (14) to the first housing part (12, 15). As a result of such an apparatus construction, the number of parts which need to be used especially for the key switches can be considerably reduced, so that it can be produced to be lighter and more cost-effectively.
