The portable watch consists of a watch housing (1) and a separate holding device (23). The watch housing (1) can be detachably inserted into the holding device with the aid of mounting means (19, 21, 37), and offers advantages in manufacture, because the required watchmaker's and goldsmith's work can be carried out independently of one another. The watch housing is inserted in a completely functional fashion into the holding device, which is completely finished and designed as an ornamental part and has strap (bracelet) abutments (33) for a wrist strap (41). When being serviced, the watch housing can be exchanged without difficulty. IMAGE
