Paint spray booth having a nozzle for atomising water which is arranged underneath a working space and through which the booth exhaust air is extracted out of the working space in order to wash particles of paint out of the exhaust air with the aid of the atomised water. To increase the degree of cleaning, above the nozzle there are arranged spray electrodes, which are connected to a high negative d.c. voltage, so that negatively charged gas ions are sucked into the nozzle together with the exhaust air.
