New bis:cyan-imino di:hydro thieno-thiophene cpds. - their charge transfer complex and radical anion salt cpd., used e.g. as electrostatic or electrode
2, 5-biscyanimino-2, 5 -dihydrothieno(3, 2-b)thiophene cpds. of formula (I) are new. Also new are charge transfer complexes (II) of (I) and fulvalene cpds. (III) in 1:1, 2:1, 3:2, 1:2 or 2:3 molar ratio; and new radical anion salts (IV) derived from (I), of the formulae:. In the formulae R1-2 = H, C1, Br, I, 1-20 C alkyl, 1-8 C alkoxy or a phenyl gp. (opt. substd. by 1-4 C alkyl, 1-4 C alkoxy, C1 or Br); R5-8= H, Me or Et; or R5/R6 and/or R7/R8= a gp. of the formula (v) (vi) etc. X and Y + S or Se; Mme = an m-valent alkali metal, Cu, Ag, T1, ammonium or phosphonium ion; 1 and n = 1-3; m = 1 or 2; z = 0-2; k, 1, m, n and z may be fractions and (1 + z) = n.m. USE/ADVANTAGE - (II) and (IV) are claimed for use for antistatic finishing of plastics, as electrode and storage materials in electric batteries, for the prodn. of solar cells, in fuel cells, for the conversion of radiation or for the prodn. of electronic devices.
