The CO2 gas laser uses a folded resonator configuration in which there are a pair of parallel emission paths (LL1,LL2). A mirror (SP2) provides coupling between the paths and electrodes (E11-E32) provide control. Laser gas is circulated across the emission in directions (f1,f2) that are transverse to the optical axes. Blowers (LG) provide the circulation action and heater exchangers (GK) provide cooling. The plate electrodes provide parallel flow paths for the gas that are of opposite directions. This provides a compensating effect to achieve uniform density in the gas flow. ADVANTAGE - Compensates for gas density effects.
