Agent for suppressing odour - contg. lower acylated deriv. of mono-glyceride of higher unbranched mono-carboxylic acid as deodorant

An agent for suppressing unwanted odours consists of or contains an acylated monoglyceride of an unbranched 8-14C monocarboxylic acid, where the acyl gp. is 2-5C. Pref. the agent is an acylated monoglyceride of lauric acid, and is esp. an acetylated monoglyceride obtd. by molecular distn. The content of acylated monoglyceride is about 50% (100%), and the acylated glyceride may be dil. with a 1-4C alkanol. The compsn. may contain an ester of a fruit acid esp a citric acid ester, and partic a citric acid monogly-ceride, isopropyl ester and/or triethyl ester. The ratio by wt. of the acylated monoglyceride: the fruit acid ester is 10:1 - 1:10 (3:1-1:3). USE/ADVANTAGE: The agent is environment-friendly, active, and free from toxic side-effects. The comosn. is a body deodorant or an air-freshener for rooms.
