The coupling is for axially joining two grooved (4, 5) pipe-ends (2, 3). It consists of a U-shaped ring (6) divided radially into three or more segments and with an inner sealing-pocket (7), into which fits an elastomeric, annula sealing-sleeve (10). The coupling-piece (6) is placed on the pipe ends (2, 3) and screwed together so that the ribs (8, 9) on the ends of the sealing-pocket (7) fit into the grooves (4, 5) in the pipes. The ring segments are pressed together by a tightening-screw (17) with a nut and using a tension band (14) placed around the periphery, with eyelets (15, 16) at the ends. The base of the sealing-pocket (7) has a groove (20) into which fits a clamping-ring (21) enclosing the sealing-sleeve (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - The pipe coupling is pushed over the pipe ends and tightely screwed down.
