Solidification of liq. manure for use as fertiliser - by converting nitrogen-contg. cpds. into higher molecular cpds. and converting liq. components to a gel
A process for solidifying liq. manure comprises converting the N-cpds. in the manure into higher mol. cpds. by chemical reactions and converting the liq. portion of the manure into a gel, which can be solidified by synaeresis and/or by adding water-binding agents. Pref. the N-cpds. are converted into higher mol.cpds. by adding higher mol. acids to form salts, or by adding addn. reaction and/or condensn. reaction partners (esp. water-sol. epoxides and/or water-sol. aldehydes), to give the addn. and/or condensn. prods. Pref. the liq. components are converted to a gel by adding water-sol. resols. and hardening to the resit stage, or by adding water-sol. silicates and/or silicic acid esters and hydrolytic cleavage. Pref. the water-binding agent is a combination of Mg oxide and Mg salts. USE/ADVANTAGE - The solidified liq. manure can be formed into a granulate which can be stored, transported and used as a fertiliser, without problems.
