Controlling in pulsed current converter or inverter - using microprocessor with stored pulse mode to calculate required pulse pattern for pulse pattern generator
The control method uses a pulse pattern generator, controlled by a microprocessor (1), for generating different pulse patterns from which the firing and extinction pulses for the current frequency and/or voltage converter thyristors are extracted. The microprocessor memory holds the different clock pulse modes for optimal operation of the load in dependence on the overall frequency, with calculation of the corresp. pulse pattern using given equations by the microprocessor. The pulse pattern calculations are effected by the microprocessor in sequential calculation intervals, into which each full period of the output signal voltage is divided. Pref. the pulse pattern is separately calculated for each phase of the current converter. ADVANTAGE - Applicable to frequency range between 0.1 and 300Hz.
