Controlling light intensity of camera eye lamp - operating shutter or light curtain in dependence on instantaneous camera shutter and focus settings

A lamp (20) is inserted near the camera lens and (11) its light intensity is automatically controlled in dependence on the instantaneous shutter and focus settings of the camera (10). The control range of the light intensity pref. starts at a fixed, freely presettable basic value. The control is typically carried out only during the camera operation, or during a test run. The shutter and focus settings of the camera may be mechanically scanned and supplied to a microprocessor (22) after appropriate conversion into signals. The microprocessor generates an adjustment signal for the camera lamp. The shutter and focussing adjustment may be derived from the respective electric camera control signals. USE/ADVANTAGE - Still or t.v. cameras to illuminate actors' faces and give eye sparkle. Can also bring out foreground without too much contrast against background.
