The drilling machine has a clamp ring (3) fitted to the drill holder (2) with a central opening (3a) for passage of the drill bit (4). The clamp ring is removed from its working position to allow the drill bit to be replaced, with subsequent re-fitting via an operating device provided at a reception station (7,8) for the clamp ring adjacent a drill magazine. Pref., two reception stations are used for two clamp rings of different dia., each associated with a respective drill magazine. ADVANTAGE - Simple automatic replacement of drill bit.
