Loose free-flowing material, e.g. flour, is delivered through cover (15) of a cylindrical container (14) by a feeder pneumatically delivering material towards tapered base section (13) ending in a valve-controlled discharge aperture (19,20). Both container elements may be mounted on weight-recorder instruments (11,12). Base section is lined by an air-permeable insert (22) for passage of loosening air. In cylindrical upper container, discharge of dust is hindered by a frusto-conical fabric filter (24) with bends to produce a zig-zag cross-section and suspended from rings (26,27) on a cross-shaped support (38). Support carries a ball-vibrator (33) which when supplied with compressed air vibrates filter fabric to detail adherent material. ADVANTAGE - With both cylindrical and tapered sections prevented from accumulating surface adhesions, container can be completely emptied.
