摘要
A rod-shaped body is formed by a number of spiral windings of fibre strands immersed in synthetic resin wound in pairs round a core at a pitch angle of 30-60 deg., with the same pitch in all the coils. The axial gap between the coils corresponds to the number of windings in the same direction multiplied by the width of the fibre strands. The strands are wound so that, in succession in the same winding direction, they are displaced from the underlying strands wound in the same direction by the fibre strand width. The fibre strands for the separate coils are pref. wound so that all those in the same direction lie over the coils wound in that direction with a mean strand gap which is more than twice the strand width, and each has an axial gap which generally corresponds to twice the strand width. The fibre strand width between the crossing points is less than at the crossing surfaces. The gap (c) between the fibre strands in the separate coils is structured as c = (n/2-1) where n is an even number of windings. ADVANTAGE - The system gives a braided rod or tube structure, which can withstand high torsional stresses without damage, and which can be produced in a continuous mfg. process.
