The illumination body with a reflector has a rod-shaped lamp (2), e.g. a fluorescent lamp. The reflector (3), which directs the light from the lamp, encloses it in the axial direction and has a slit light outlet aperture (9) parallel to the lamp's longitudinal axis. The aperture is formed by the facing arms (7, 8) of the reflector which are curved in the opposite direction towards their maximum separation (a) with a smaller radius of curvature than that of the reflector. ADVANTAGE - Concentrates practically entire light yield into narrow light beam.
