The invention relates to a pocket-sized umbrella with a handle and a collapsible frame which opens out a fabric cover in the open position. The frame (3) comprises an extendable central rod (31), and spiral wires (32) for opening the cover (2). The handgrip (4) is formed of a tube shaped collar which accepts the central rod (31), the spiral wires (32) and the cover (2). The spiral wires (32) and nylon tensioning cords (33) which govern the opening distance from the cetral rod (31) are fixed to the outer edge (21) of the cover (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - The pocket-sized umbrella is smaller than previous types.
