The solar-operated warning light uses solar cells mounted on the light, or separate from it, used to charge a battery during the day, which provides the operating voltage for the light at night. The light source is switched on via an electronic circuit incorporating a twilight switch. The light can be switched from continuous operation to intermittent operation, for conserving the battery charge, when the latter drops to a given level.
