Door for driver's cab - is fitted on heavy goods vehicle and has hinges with hinge axis forward of door edge

The heavy goods vehicle has a driver's cab (2) with a side door (1). The cab doorway is above the front wheel arch (3) and partly ahead of the wheel arch (3). Access to the cab is by means of steps (5) which are positioned in front of the wheel arch. The door (1) is attached to the cab by hinges with vertical axes. These hinges are so designed that the hinge axis is at a distance in front of the edge of the door to which the hinges are attached. When the door is fully open this design of hinge provides unobstructed access to the cab. USE - Driver's cab for heavy goods vehicles.
