Prodn. of moulds-models etc., for ceramic industry - made of absorbent core material coated with wear-resistant material

Method of producing moulds, models and tools esp. for use in the ceramic industry consists of casting a fine wear-resistant mass in which a core body of sufficient strength and suction capability is embedded. The fine mass is pref. moulding gypsum, a combined calcium silicate hydrate, a resin-strengthened body etc. ADVANTAGE - Wear-resistant moulding gypsum is used in a reduced quantity. The moulds can be used several times and the core body can be recycled by recasting the wear-resistant coating around it.
