Continuously heat treating ferromagnetic aromatic alloy strip comprises passing the strip along a path over which an AC or pulsed current is flowing through the strip. In a furhter stage a DC magnetic field is applied to the strip prior to it being wound into a coil. USE/ADVANTAGE - Treating FE-, Ni- and/or Co-blend alloy strip. Magnetic properties are improved by increasing magnetic induction, lowering coercivity and lowering hysteresis core loss. The heating also prevents structure transformation imbrittlement.
