Liq. wood-protecting compsn. (I) comprises isocyanate-modified linseed oil (L) and a siccative mixt. (M) contg. at least one dye, which make up the largest component of the dry substance, a solvent(s) (chiefly consisting of aliphatic, hydrocarbon-free liqs.) and a biocide (B). Pref. (M) is composed of Zr, Ca and Mn cpds. and a silicate to enhance viscosity. (B) is an N,N-diaryl-N'- aryl-N'-(trihalomethylthio) -sulphamide. (S) is a mixt. of ester alcohols and glycol ethers. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is applied as a component of a paint or glass. (I) penetrates the wood better than previous compsns., and protects the wood against water, cold and UV light. (I) is non-toxic to humans and pets. (I) is esp. useful against fungi and algae.
