Appts. for the discharge of hot gas and slag from a reaction chamber into a cooling chamber has a spiral tube with adjacent coils joined together so as to be gas-tight; the tube has inlet and outlet connections for a coolant, and forms an assembly with a circular upper part under which there is a cylindrical section. The cylindrical section has a fire-resistant protective layer that extends to a horizontal ring of segments attached to the tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - Is mainly for use in reactors producing gases contg.
