A vehicle sliding/tilting sunroof (16) has a mechanism (18) on each side, allowing the sunroof to be either raised above the roof or lowered and slid rearwards. An interior cover (19), which slides with the sunroof, is coupled to an operating lever (22), which allows the cover to move with the sunroof, but with a different motion. The operating lever, together with the sunroof raising mechanism, slow the cover motion just before reaching its end closed position. ADVANTAGE - Noise, caused when shutting the roof is reduced.
