The convertible seat has a frame (1) from which is pulled a upholstered cushion (5) or support (4), with extra cushion (6) or extra-cushion support (3). The extra cushion (6) or seat cushion (5) is extended in a recliner position by an extension cushion (80) or its support (89) movably fixed at the back end of the extra (6) or seat (5) cushion. An elastically resilient support (81) with a foam or spring core supports the cushions. The extra (6), seat (5) and extension (80) cushions are joined by a fabric hinge (82).
