A loudness controller feeds a registration device. Delay lines (31a,31b) delays the audio signals by various times. A level controller (32a,32b) produces reverberation signals by reducing the amplitude of these delayed signals by amplitude alternating coefficients. An addition device (33) adds the reverberation components to the undelayed signal. The level controller alters the size of the attenuation coefficients depending on the registered loudness. For at least those signals with longer delays, higher attenuation coefficients to higher set loudnesses are used. The loudness register may include a microcomputer.
