A hard electrode serves to earth the patient. By switching a transformer an absolute zero voltage is obtained between current peaks since the supply is from a battery. The hand electrode (3) is provided with a control (4) operated by the patient to set the intensity of the therapy current. The therapy electrode (2) also serves as a measuring electrode. This electrode has a therapy current switch (15) and conductive diodes (14). The electrode tip (5) can be exchangeable using an O-ring bearing (6) in the therapy electrode. Pref., the electrode tip is installed in a bearing collar (7) slidable against the force of a return spring (8). ADVANTAGE - Therapy is simultaneously possible during conductance measurement. Neither practitioner nor patient has to change his position.
