The assembly to clean sewage, after it has passed through a multi-chamber cesspit, has a container with a dwell zone, a filter zone and an outflow zone. A filter is inserted into the filter zone, to fill its entire cross-section. Pref. The filter is of foamed plastics or a mineral material. A dividing wall is inserted between the dwell zone and the filter zone, with its upper edge below the level of the inflow pipe. A further dividing wall is inserted between the filter zone and the outflow zone, with its upper edge higher than the inflow pipe level and with a gap between its lower edge and the base of the container. The inflow pipe opens into the container at the same height or above the height of the outflow pipe. The top of the container (1) is directly covered by a lid. A pump is incorporated in the inlet pipe, and an additional filter is inserted into the outflow pipe. Ventilation air can be delivered by a pipe to the filter stage with an internal or external fan. USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is for isolated housing which cannot be connected to a common sewage disposal system. The water is sufficiently cleaned, without the use of chemicals, to allow it to pass out into the environment without damage to flora and fauna, to seep away or move into ground water.
