The invention concerns systems for undersea exploration with self-contained vessels. It consists in using a base boat (1) and identical first (3) and second (4) vessels fitted with an internal combustion engine, an electric motor/generator and a battery. One of the undersea vessels travels beneath the surface using its internal combustion engine provided with air via a schnorchel and recharges its battery. It is in communication with the base boat via a radio link. The other undersea vessel travels fully immersed on its electric motor. It is in communication with the first via an acoustic and/or optical link. Once its battery is exhausted, the two vessels change places. The invention facilitates undersea exploration.
