A silver halide color light-sensitive material comprising, on a support, at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow dye-forming color coupler, at least one green- sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a magenta dye-forming color coupler and at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan dye-forming color coupler, in which the weight-averaged wavelength &lgr;G of spectral sensitivity distribution of the green- sensitive layer is in the range of from 520 nm to 580 nm, the weight averaged wavelength &lgr;.sub.-R of spectral sensitivity distribution of the interlayer effect received by the red-sensitive layer in the range of from 500 nm to 600 nm is in the range of from 500 nm to 560 nm and the difference, &lgr;.sub.G -&lgr;.sub.-R is 5 nm or more, the material being characterized in that spectral sensitivity distribution S.sub.-R (. lambda.) of the interlayer effect received by the red-sensitive layer satisfies the following conditions:PP(a) the wavelength . lambda..sub.31 R.sup.max at which S.sub.-R (&lgr;) is the maximum is in the range of from 490 nm to 560 nm;PP(b) the wavelength &lgr;.sub.-R.sup.80 at which S.sub.-R (&lgr;) is 80% of S.sub.-R (&lgr;. sub.-R.sup.max) is in the range of from 450 to 534 nm and 512 to 566 nm; PP(c) the wavelength &lgr;.sub.-R. sup.40 at which S.sub.- R (&lgr;) is 40% of S.sub.-R (&lgr;.sub.-R. sup.max)PPis in the range of from 400 to 512 nm and 523 to 578 nm.PP The material gives a color image with excellent color reproduction and high saturation over the whole visible light region.
