PURPOSE:To offer the low-cost hot stand-by method which speedily executes a program without loading the program even in case of software trouble and the computer system for the method. CONSTITUTION:The processing unit and plural in-use and stand-by storage devices are provided, and application programs 35 and 45 and control programs 33 and 34 required for their execution are loaded into the respective main storage devices; and only the in-use main storage device is used in normal operation to executes the control program and application program in the in-use main storage device and only the stand-by main storage device is used if software trouble occurs to executes the control program and application program in the stand-by main storage device.
