PURPOSE:To obtain whitened egg yolk containing a specific antibody with hardly any yellow color, animal smell and taste peculiar to the egg yolk by rearing a hen preimmunized with an antigen using a feed without containing carotenoids. CONSTITUTION:A hen immunized with an antigen, e.g. an infectious disease pathogen such as cariogenic bacteria, diarrheic pathogen, influenza virus, bacteria of common acne or trichophytes is reared with a feed without containing a substance (e.g. corn, corn gluten meal, an apo-carotenoic acid ester or canthaxanthin) providing a carotenoid donor to the egg yolk to afford whitened egg yolk from eggs laid by the reared hen as described above. Even if the aforementioned whitened egg yolk is directly used without purifying the contained antibody or used as egg yolk powder or egg yolk water-soluble proteinaceous powder, the color, smell and taste essential to the blended merchandise will not be impaired.
