PURPOSE:To Apply heat treatment to a soft-magnetic alloy having high saturation magnetic flux density and excellent in soft-magnetic properties. CONSTITUTION:The alloy used for executing this invention has a composition represented by (Fe1-aCoa)bBxTyT'z or a composition represented by FebBxTyT'z, where T means an element, such as Ti, T' means an element, such as Cu, a=0.05, b=92atomic%, x=0.5 to 16atomic%, y=4 to 10atomic%, and z=4.5 atomic%. The superior soft-magnetic alloy can be obtained by cooling the alloy with the above composition at =100 deg.C/min cooling rate. Crystalline substances and amorphous substances exist in the form of mixture in the soft- magnetic alloy obtained by the title method, and this alloy has superior magnetic permeability at high frequency and also has superior heat resistance as well as excellent mechanical strength. As a result, this alloy can be suitably used for magnetic head, choking coil, transformer, etc.
