LEADER CONNECTOR AND BASE LEADER THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To easily attach a base leader to the boom of a traveling crane and improve the field of vision at the traveling attitude of the traveling crane. CONSTITUTION:A connecting metal 10 having a notch 12 and a connector to a base leader 30 on its lower part is detachably connected to a connecting pin 5 supported by a leader bracket 4. The metal 10 is then connected to the base leader 30 and a hook 7a on the tip of a rope 7 is connected with the metal 35 to be connected of a nonmetal rope 35 engaged with the sheave group 33 of the leader 30. The rope 35 is pulled to place the rope 7 on the sheave group 33, and the rope 7 is wound up to raise the leader 30, whereupon the contact part 11a comes into contact with a stopper plate 4a and the notch is coupled with the connecting pin 5. The traveling crane can thus be run under the condition that the leader 30 is not attached because the leader 30 can be connected easily and quickly.
