PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE COMPILER FOR COBOL EXTENSION EXPERT SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To perform a forward inference in a simple way with use of a COBOL by defining a class and the structure of an instance belonging to the class and also identifying uniquely the instance included in the class. CONSTITUTION:A vocabulary/syntax analyzing part 16-1 analyzes the vocabularies and syntaxes of a source program 1. Then the part 16-1 classifies the program 1 into a class text 16-5 including the class definition 5, the instance identifier definition 6, a class operating instruction 9, and a rule block control instruction 10, an RHS text 16-6 including the rule block definition 13 and the rule definition 14, i.e., a rule part 12, and an intermediate COBOL text 16-4 including other parts. A preprocessor 16 analyzes a description part extended from a COBOL in the program 1 and outputs an inference engine to a COBOL source program 18 for execution of a forward inference.
