PURPOSE:To prevent contamination of the film from an oil stain etc., in soluted matter in the processing solution in the case of high temp. and high speed large scale operation by incorporating specified quantity of the water soluble surface active agent into the processing solution. CONSTITUTION:In the case of treating the seat type silver halide photographic sensitive material having transparent supporting body of image exposed 200mmx 250mm size by using the roller conveying type automatic developing machine, the processing solution incorporates 0.5-20 g/l of the water soluble surfactant (especially nonionic or anionic series). By this means, contamination by the oily deposited material and the white powder precipitated by oxidation in the contacting part with air is completely avoided and processing method and processing solution of the photographic sensitive material stabilized for a long period are obtained.
