PURPOSE:To provide the title imaging agent specifically accumulating on the myonurocytes from an early stage of its administration and capable of giving clear myocardial tomogram, containing, as the chief component, m-iodobenzyl guanidine labeled with radioactive iodine of high specific activity. CONSTITUTION:The objective imaging agent containing, as the chief component, m-iodobenzyl guanidine (MIBG) labeled with radioactive iodine = 370 (pref. =1000)MBq/mg in specific activity. Valuable information for the early stage detection of and therapeutic policies for various kinds of cardiopathy(myocardial infarction, stenocardia, and myocardiopathy) can be obtained by administration of said radioactive iodine-labeled MIBG at a level of = 10 (pref. = 5) mug/kg body weight and by making an imaging and analysis according to the conventional procedure.
