FLATNESS DISPLAY UNIT FOR PAVING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To make smooth finishing available for the surface of pavement by a method wherein flatness-showing stored values that are made by storing successively, in accordance with arrangement of measuring points, the results of measurement made on difference in unevenness on a plurality of measuring points are graphed simultaneously in accordance with the arrangement of the measuring points. CONSTITUTION:Paving material is laid and rolled with a screed 3 as a vehicle 1 travels. A first and a second height detector installed to a base member 8 measure the distances respectively to the road surface and, at the same time, a gradient detector 19 measures the tilt angle of the base member 8, and a travel distance detector 19 measures the distance of travel. All the measured values are outputted to a computing unit. The computing unit calculates the difference in unevenness between two points out of the distance measured by both of the height detectors and the angle measured by the gradient detector, and the difference in unevenness is calculated for each of paired points prepared continuously in the direction in which the vehicle 1 travels, and the calculated results are put in storage. The calculated results are also graphed on a display unit 35 in accordance with the arrangement of measuring points.
