PURPOSE:To constitute the clinical thermometer so that a person to be measured himself can turn exactly and quickly an infrared-ray sensor to a measured part of his on mouth by providing a collimator consisting of a specular part by which the person to be measured can observe visually a fact that the infrared-ray sensor is opposed to the measured part in the mouth. CONSTITUTION:When a power source switch 1 is turned on and started, an analog switch 23 selects a reference temperature measuring sensor 13, decides whether it is a sampling timing or not, waits at the time when it is not the sampling timing, and when it is the sampling timing, the reference temperature measuring sensor 13 reads in data of a reference temperature, and stores and processes it. Subsequently, the analog switch 23 selects an infrared-ray sensor 9, decides whether it is the sampling timing or not, and the infrared-ray sensor 9 reads in infrared-ray data, and also, calculates a temperature value from the infrared-ray data and the reference temperature data, stores and processes a peak holding value, and thereafter, displays the peak holding values on a display part 4.
