PURPOSE:To enhance the controlling precision of the gap of rice husking rolls by providing a noncontact type sensor for detecting the gap of the rolls, a cleaning means of the part to be detected and a controlling means which controls a moving means of the rice husking rolls so that the gap of the rolls is regulated to the prescribed value to the front CONSTITUTION:A noncontact type sensor 16 for detecting the gap of both rice husking rolls 1A, 1B is constituted so that the gap part is enlarged by lenses 14, 15 and the enlarged image thereof is received e.g. by a CCD type or MOS type image sensor. The part to be detected in both rice husking rolls 1A, 1B is always cleaned by air blown from a nozzle toward the detection part of the noncontact type sensor 16. A signal correspondent to the size of the gap detected by this sensor 16 is inputted to a controlling circuit and compared with a signal becoming reference. When the signal exceeds this reference, a signal for rotating the motors 9A, 9B in the prescribed direction is outputted a driving circuit. The shafts 3, 3 of rolls are mutually approached by rotation of the motors 9A, 9B and also the rice husking rolls 1A, 1B are approached. When the detection value of the sensor 16 coincides with the reference value control is stopped.
