PURPOSE:To easily form a bottom enlarged pit with good accuracy, by automatically detecting the widening state and depth of a bottom-enlarged pit by a widening quantity detector and a falling quantity detector and confirming the detected informations to perform work. CONSTITUTION:The bucket 101 supported by the leading end of a rotary shaft 112 and equipped with an openable and contractible cutter is fallen in the pit 200 formed by excavating the ground 300. The bucket 101 is rotated while the cutter is widened and the circumference of the bottom part of the pit 200 to form a bottom enlarged pit 201. A widening amount detector is provided to the bucket 101 to electrically detect the widening quantity of the cutter while a falling quantity detector is mounted to the rotary part containing the rotary shaft 112 to electrically detect the falling quantity of the bucket 101. The detection signals by said detectors are transmitted by a transmitter and displayed on the color CRT arranged to the driver seat of a crawler crane 110 thorough a receiver and a computer unit. Therefore, a workman can form the bottom enlarged pit according to a plan while watching the CRT.
