PROCESSING OF SURGICAL SUTURE YARN, APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING THE SAME AND SURGICAL SUTURE YARN

PURPOSE: To provide a suture processing method adapted to be improve the knot characteristic of a surgical suture, in particular, a lamination method for a surgical suture, a device for carrying out the method, and a surgical suture. CONSTITUTION: A surgical suture 13 is led from a rewinding reel 11 to a winding reel 20 through a heating tank 21, an impregnating tank 16, and a drying pipe 18. On this way, the surgical suture 13 is laminated with a solution 29 which contains an organic solvent and which is circulated, fed and heated from a storage tank 30 through a conduit 31, a pump 32, and a conduit 24 incorporating a heating part 33 and a heating coil 25, and a pump 23 through impregnation or by means of a grazing fork 40, and is then soon dried in a drying pipe 18 incorporating a heating coil 17. In this case, the drying temperature is set to a value with which the solvent of the solution 29 on the surgical suture 13 is evaporated, and accordingly, fatty acid-metal salt wax remain as solid residual.
