FEEDING PHASE SETTING METHOD FOR PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To prevent a phase change from occurring even when beam scanning is executed by controlling each phase shifter with the center of the phased array antenna as the reference of setting the feeding phase. CONSTITUTION:The phased array antenna is composed of antenna elements A2', A1', A0, A1 and A2 which are respectively arranged at prescribed intervals, phase shifters phi2', phi1', phi0, phi1 and phi2 added to the respective antenna elements, distributor DIV added to the antenna elements, and controller CONT. When this array antenna is considered as a plane, the central point of this surface is defined as the reference of weighting the phase, and each phase control amount is decided corresponding to the distance and direction between this point and each antenna element. Thus, the phase deviation of radial beam accompanying beam scanning can be easily eliminated, and the performance of a communication system when using phase modulation can be prevented from being degraded.
