MANUFACTURE OF AL-MG ALLOY SHEET EXCELLENT IN STRENGTH AND ORIENTATION PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To offer a method for manufacturing an Al-Mg alloy sheet for forming excellent in strength and orientation. CONSTITUTION:The ingot of an Al-Mg alloy having a compsn. contg., as essential components, 0.5 to l.8% Mg, 0.05 to 0.6% Mn and 0.3 to 0.6% Cu and the balance Al with impurities is subjected to homogenizing heat treatment at 450 to 560 deg.C, is subjected to hot rolling at 250 to 550 deg.C, is thereafter subjected to intermediate rolling at =30% draft, is subjected to process annealing at 420 to 550 deg.C and is furthermore subjected to finish rolling at =30% draft and stabilizing annealing at 150 to 250 deg.C. A high strength aluminum material free from surface defects such as SS marks and roughening and having low earing at the time of forming can be obtd., and a PP cap or the like excellent in strength and orientation can be manufactured. Their industrial manufacturing is made easy.
