PURPOSE:To enable a measurement accuracy to be improved by emitting a supersonic wave while energizing a wave-reception/transmission equipment at a bow side and a stern side alternately and reenergyzing the wave-reception/ transmission equipment with a slight delay for emitting a supersonic wave with a frequency which is different from before. CONSTITUTION:A timing signal with a constant period from a timing circuit 1 triggers a pulse circuit 3, an output pulse energizes a terminal A of a wave- reception/transmission equipment 7, and then releases a supersonic wave with a first frequency. Also, a delay circuit 5 operates in synchronization with the timing signal, a delay signal is added to a delay switcher 6, and an input terminal of the wave-reception/transmission equipment 7 is switched to B. Since the delay signal triggers the circuit 3 again simultaneously, a supersonic wave with a second frequency is emitted from the wave-reception/transmission equipment 7. A reflection signal with the first frequency is received by a first reception circuit 8-1 from the terminal A and a distance to a coast and a traveling speed are measured by a first measuring circuit 9-1. A similar measurement is made also to the second frequency and an average value of both is obtained as a data by an averaging circuit 10.
