ERROR DETECTING CIRCUIT FOR MAGNETIC DISK CERTIFIER

PURPOSE:To allow error detection with high reliability by digitizing the test signals written/read to and out of respective tracks by an A/D converter and comparing the signals with a reference voltage by a digital comparator. CONSTITUTION:The test signal of the specified frequency written/read to and out of the suitable one track of the magnetic disk to be inspected is inputted from an input terminal 5 to a TAA inspecting and reference voltage circuit 6. This analog reference voltage is digitized by an A/D converter 7 and is applied to the B terminal of the digital comparator 8. The respective tracks are successively subjected to the writing/reading out of the test signals. The error signal is outputted as error data of a prescribed format from a data processing section 14. Namely, the error detecting circuit is a digital system and, therefore, both the reference voltage and test signal are made into high accuracy and the error is detected with the high accuracy and stability by the digital comparator. The improvement in the reliability of the magnetic disk certifier is made in this way.
