PRODUCTION OF FORMED ACTIVE COKE FOR DESULFURIZATION AND DENITRATION HAVING HIGH DENITRATION PERFORMANCE

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject coke excellent in pressure resistance, abrasnon resistance and impact resistance by reacting a formed active coke with SO3 gas at a prescribed low temperature and heat-treating the product at a prescribed high temperature in nitrogen atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A formed active coke produced from coal, etc., is made to contact and react with SO3 gas in dried atmosphere at 100-300 deg.C to proceed the oxidation and activation of the coke. The product is heat-treated at 300-600 deg.C in nitrogen atmosphere to effect the desorption of SO3. The amount of oxygen-containing functional group on the coke surface is increased by this process to remarkably improve the ammonia-adsorptivity and NO-oxidation activity.
