IGNITION TIMING CONTROL METHOD AT TRANSIENT TIME

PURPOSE:To elaborately perform delay timing control of ignition timing at the time of acceleration corresponding to various acceleration conditions without causing complication of the control. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration condition of an engine is detected from a change amount of intake pressure, detected by a pressure sensor 13, to perform transient increase of fuel from an injector 3 based on a detection result of the acceleration condition. The transient increase of fuel is performed such that the fuel is increased in the beginning of acceleration to decrease a damping amount in each fuel injection, and a correction amount of ignition timing is changed corresponding to a change of this transient increase. An electronic control unit 4 controls an ignitor 7 by predetermined timing based on these procedures to adjust applying timing of high voltage supplied to a spark plug 16 through a distributor 14. Since delay timing control of the ignition timing can be performed elaborately in accordance with all the acceleration conditions, knocking at the time of acceleration can be effectively suppressed.
