EXPERIMENTAL EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING OF VIBRATION OF GROUND

PURPOSE:To enable repeated tests and highly accurate measurement by providing a test soil having a gravel layer which simulates the spot, and arranging a vibrating apparatus making use of the hammering effect therearound. CONSTITUTION:A test soil 1 simulating the soil at the spot is buried in ground, on which a structural model 3 is placed. At the same time, a vibration exerting apparatus 2 is provided at a suitable place around the structural model 3. A weight 6 of the apparatus 2 is wound up by a wire 7, dropped within a guide tube 9 to impress an impact to a hammer 4, so that an impact block 5 is vibrated in a vertical direction. The characteristics of the soil 1 can be known from this vibration. Accordingly, it is not necessary to transfer the measuring equipment to the spot. A highly accurate measurement is achieved with use of a stationary-installed equipment. The testing environment is not changed but constant, and the data can be easily classified. Moreover, the testing conditions can be changed with ease by selecting the specifications of the apparatus 2, thus allowing repeated tests.
