PURPOSE:To efficiently recover and utilize the scrap of the clad material for heat exchanger by successively separately melting the skin materials and core materials of the above-mentioned scrap by melting furnaces provided in two stages. CONSTITUTION:The melting furnace is previously divided to two stages; the 1st-stage furnace 1 and the 2nd-stage furnace 5. The scrap of the aluminum clad material for heat exchanger is charged from a bucket 6 into a transporting device 3 and is transferred to the 1st-stage furnace 1. The clad material scrap is heated to about 577 to 630 deg.C in the 1st-stage furnace 1 and only the skin material (Al-Si alloy) is melted and extracted. The extracted skin material is taken out via a trough 7 into a molten metal receiver 8. The clad material scrap which is not melted is transferred to the 2nd-stage furnace 5 by a transporting device 4 while this scrap is once cooled down to about 500 deg.C. The scrap is heated to about =700 deg.C and the core materials (Al-Mn and Al-Mg-Si systems) are melted, extracted and recovered. The clad material scrap is separated to the skin materials and the core materials which are respectively efficiently recovered and utilized.
